Condoms are available free of charge at any Family Planning Clinic ( see section on Local Clinics), or Young Person's Clinic. In addition there are a number of schemes that make condoms available in non-clinical settings - details of how to find out about them are listed below:
Hartlepool
A condom distribution scheme for young people aged 13-19 operates across Hartlepool. There are a number of organisations that distribute condoms on different days and times. For more information about the outlets contact 01429 239929
The Boys' and Young Men's Worker for Hartlepool explains: "The first time you get condoms you will see a trained worker who will ask you some questions, although any information you give us will remain confidential unless we feel you are at risk. The number of condoms you will receive will depend on your age but you may return as often as you like for more condoms - this is usually once a week"
Redcar & Cleveland
A C Card Scheme operates in Redcar & Cleveland (the area that covers Redcar, Saltburn, Marske and Guisborough and the East Cleveland area including Skelton, Brotton and Loftus). The scheme operates in non clinical settings, you register with the scheme and on your first visit you talk to a trained worker who will give you a C Card. On subsequent visits you just need to show your C Card and you will be given your free condoms.

Middlesbrough
If you are under 25, you can access free condoms through the C Card Scheme, which operates across Middlesbrough and is based in non clinical settings. Initial registration with a trained worker only takes about 20 minutes and after that you can use your C Card to access free condoms at any of the venues in Middlesbrough.
